Air travel is the fastest and most convenient way of reaching your preferred destination, especially if your target is overseas. Seasoned travelers have no more qualms about hopping onto a plane; everything to them just seems to be mechanical. The vast expanse of the sea really attracts a great amount of fascination even from the very early times. You will remember that great countries like Spain, Britain and Portugal went on voyages in order to discover what lies beyond the blue-green expanse. This kind of allure was carried over up until this modern era that we live in. But today sea voyage is even more enjoyable because of the modern contraption that goes with the high tech and luxurious cruise ships.

Personally, I’ve never been on a cruise but when it comes to mind I always think of it as one great adventure. Maybe you are one of those who have a great passion for the sea and maybe you’d like to see what’s beyond the harbor, well then if you are then going on a cruise would be the perfect way.

Most people are born with an “itchy feet” or the desire to travel. This is natural since there are really a lot of wonderful places waiting to be experienced. However, you don’t just pack and go when the desire hits you, especially if the trip involves going abroad. You also have to consider your own safety as you plan your travel.

In order to feel secure on your trip you have to:

1. Make sure all your legal documents are in order – passport and visas. It will also be ideal to have them photocopied in case you lose the original.

2. Study the travel information about the place you plan to visit.

3. Be aware of the local laws and way of living of the county where you intend to go.

WOW, what else can I say? These luxurious hotels flaunt grandiose façade, offer the finest services, have the most sophisticated facilities and all the bests you can ever ask for or even just imagine. I don’t want to underestimate anyone, but I bet many of you out there are just like me hoping to get even just a night’s stay at some of these fabulous hotels named by Forbes as the most expensive hotels in 2006:

Where to go for the World’s Best Ice Creams

July is National Ice Cream Month! If you find yourself craving for ice cream while starting to get itchy feet, why not travel to some place where you can satisfy both your desire for ice cream and traveling? Wouldn’t it be a cool way to spend your summer vacation?

Where to go? Here are some tips for you. Travel Channel names these places in US as the best ice cream parlors: Ron's Gourmet Ice Cream in Hyde Park, Massachusetts; Lizzy's Homemade Ice Cream in Waltham, Massachusetts; and Peter's Homemade Ice Cream Parlor and Coffeehouse in Brooklyn, New York.

If you want to travel farther and savor yummy and uniquely flavored ice creams, you might want to go to these countries:

Most of us travel to see and experience new things: new places, new faces, new sights and sounds, new tastes and smells. But there’s one new thing you don’t want to include in travel – new SHOES. First of all, new shoes need to be broken in. Breaking in a new pair of shoes while trying to keep up with a tour guide, or while climbing hills in search of historic vistas, simply does not work. You’ll most likely end up with sore feet and blisters, both of which can negatively impact the rest of your holiday...

Virtually every country that produces livestock (cattle, sheep, goats) also produces cheese. That is why there are so many varieties of cheeses around the world. May I suggest including cheese-tasting on your travels. There's nothing quite as authentic about experiencing a new venue than stopping at its local delicatessen or butcher shop for a hunk of cheese to go with local breads and wines. These are the foods that most often define a region or town in the Western Hemisphere.

And while cheese doesn't seem to have caught on in Asia, it is a staple in the Middle East. If you haven't tried cheese tasting, start today. I put Feta cheese on a salad this week for the first time...

Even the most seasoned traveler will encounter poor health away from home. Fevers, sore throats, diarrhea, and dehydration can ruin an otherwise heavenly get-away. Long flights can leave a traveler bloated, constipated, and exhausted. The noise of the train can produce migraine-like symptoms. Cruise passengers often find themselves overcome with nausea and vomiting. I remember hiking around Rome in 98 degree heat, praying for a restroom to appear. When I finally found one, the restroom had no toilet paper. Keeping that memory alive has helped me to pack more carefully since then.

Always pack with these possibilities in mind, and keep them with you:

My brother-in-law just emailed me with his plans to visit Spain and France this May. Here’s what I wrote back:

May is PERFECT for Spain and France. Not too hot, not too rainy. If you're willing to shell out for the Eurail Pass, the train will be easier and faster than a rental car. Then, rent scooters when you get to the cities. In the villages and smaller towns, you can walk or take buses like the natives do. Scooters are cheap and fast and much less tiring than bicycles. Remember to give French speaking the old college try if you want the French people to be nice to you. It’s no laughing matter – they like tourists who are at least willing to try and speak French, “non?”

If you are wondering about the level of safety in some of the Arab countries, which attract lots of tourists, then this list will be of great value to you.

These are the 5 safest Touristic Arab countries:
