Does your netbook run out of power really fast? Hmm, might be that, the operating system consumes so much of it. It’s probably time for you to switch to the all-new and more advanced Windows 7 OS. Microsoft has designed Windows 7 to be more efficient not only in terms of networking and security but also when it comes to power. The claim that Windows 7 provides makes the battery’s life longer is true when compared only to a netbook running on Vista; however, between Windows 7 and Windows XP, XP is still the winner.

So, if you’re faced with a choice between Vista and Windows 7, get Windows 7 instead! However, if your netbook runs on Windows XP, better stand by it if you want to prolong your battery’s life.

There is a great gap between the efficiency in battery life on netbooks running Windows 7 and Windows XP. According to some of the tests, the battery life difference range from 47 minutes up to 57 minutes. This amount of time is still a huge gap. You can still accomplish a lot of work during that time.

The important thing to remember if you want to have a netbook with longer battery life is this: Between Windows 7 and Vista OS, choose the former; but between Windows 7 and Windows XP, better stick to XP.

Recalls aren’t only applicable to laptops and cars; it is also applicable to chargers! Yup, listen up Nokia users. You might be one of the people who will be affected by the charger recall that the cellphone maker has issued. According to Nokia, a limited number of cellphone chargers could cause electric shock to the users. This could happen because the plastic covers on the affected chargers could separate and expose its internal parts. These parts are conductors so there is a big chance that the user will really get the shock of his life!

The Nokia chargers in question here are those produced by Chinese supplier BYD, specifically the model types AC-3U, AC-3E, and AC-4U produced on October 25, 2009. Better take a look at your charger and see if yours is affected.

Affected users don’t have any problem because Nokia is issuing a replacement all for free!

With the new Cry Translator your iPhone can already double up as your baby’s nanny! Cry Translator is an iPhone application that can analyze and distinguish the meaning of a baby’s cry. The application can translate the cry whether the baby is sleepy, annoyed, stressed, hungry, or bored.

According to its developers Pedro Barrera and Luis Meca said, “These five cries are universal to all babies regardless of culture or language.”

Are doubtful of its accuracy? Well, there’s only one way to find out. Download the application to your iPhone now! You can get the Cry Translator at the Apple iTunes App Store for $9.99.

Addicted to Twitter? Then you would probably find good use of the new TwitterPeek, a device that’s dedicated to making Twitter updates. TwitterPeek is like a mobile device that you can just carry in your pocket.

Now, let’s go to the things it can’t do. One, it can’t provide a view of the contents of links in tweets. Second, it has no GPS so there’s no way you can geotag your location. Third, TwitterPeek has no browser. And fourth, it doesn’t have a camera so, that means no photo sharing! Wow, why do you I have the feeling that the disadvantages outweigh the positive points of this device? Hmm, I don’t want to say anything much anymore. Just judge for yourself.

The TwitterPeek is now available at $99.99 with six months of service. But, there’s another alternative - $199.99 for lifetime service.

I’m all for Twitter; however I’m not a really avid user because I find it cumbersome sometimes. There are so many updates to go through before I can find the update that a particular person made. I think Twitter heard my sentiment, and probably, of a lot of users too because it has rolled out the biggest update of date. This update is the Twitter Lists that enables users to consolidate their contacts into groups. Through this grouping, a user can easily find the updates he’s looking for. Just click on the group name and voila! updates will immediately show up!

Depending on the user’s preference, the group can be made public or private. And, subscription can be made by group and not individually. However, Twitter did not give a step-by-step instruction on how to add people to the Twitter Lists. Even though this is the case, I’m sure Twitter users won’t have a hard time getting the hang of it.

It’s a great change if I may say so. It gets rid of the hassle of having to swim through various updates that I do not want to read about! At this time, Twitter Lists is still on its beta stage. When it was first released on Oct. 28, it was only available to about 25% of users; but recent reports say that it is now appearing to more of the Twitter population.
So, have you checked out this latest feature? Lets!

Would you be willing to spend $600 on a feature phone? Some people literally recoil upon hearing this kind of amount for a certain device. So I don’t know how people would react to the latest Sony Ericsson Aino that bears this price tag. Even though it looks really good and has so many great features, most people would run away because of its price tag. This unlocked GSM phone features a huge 3-inch touchscreen display. With its 342x240-resolution, user will surely have great fun navigating through Aino’s various applications.

Although the Sony Ericsson Aino is a touchscreen phone, its manufacturer still equipped it with a slide-out keypad, this is good because most users still favour it instead of the virtual one. Other features include compatibility with PlayStation 3 console, tri-band HSPA, and Wi-Fi.

If you purchase the device, Sony Ericsson is also throwing in a pair of Bluetooth headphones, a charging base, and an 8GB microSD memory card to soften the blow of the $600 price tag.

Is thin still in? Samsung certainly believes so. Proof of this is the newest LCD panel it unveiled on Wednesday. Measuring just 3.9-inches, the 40-inch Full HD is now the thinnest LCD panel in the world! Just imagine, this LCD is 2mm thinner than the standard #2 pencil. This latest entertainment device is even fondly nicknamed “Needle Thin LCD.” With the size it has, it’s not surprising. It would be great to own this baby and be able to display it in the living room.

Its 120GHz refresh rate will allow fast display of images. The contrast ratio of 5,000:1 also contributes a lot to the sharpness and clarity of the display.

Samsung hasn’t made any statement as to when this will be available for the market, or how much it’s going to cost when it goes on sale.

It looks like Samsung has made another record. Which company is daring enough to break it?
The Massively Multimedia Online Role-Playing Gaming (MMORPG) is coming to the Middle East as former Maktoob CEO Samih Toukan launched Tahadi – the new online gaming company (For those of you who doesn’t understand Arabic, Tahadi is an Arabic word that means challenge). This is the latest addition to Jabbar Internet Group.

Presently, MMORPG is not that popular or visible in the region, but with Tahadi in existence, that is about to change. Only Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Kuwait are the countries in the region that are being considered as the primary market for this. Tahadi already has three titles ready and these are Ragnarok, Crazy Kart, and the Runes of Magic. Gamers can look forward to these titles early next year. And apart from that, one of Tahadi’s goals is to launch at least three games every year – for free! And since it’s free, the company aims to generate revenue from advertising and optional purchases of virtual items.

Tahadi will localize successful games and from there it also hopes to modify in-game graphics and background to reflect some of the Arab culture.

Web addresses are about to change! If you think that it’s going to be confined to the English language for all time, you’re wrong. Pretty soon you’ll see web addresses in various characters like Korean, Arabic, Japanese, Hindi, Greek, and Cyrillic. Internet users in these countries will be able to surf the web in their respective languages.

This move to permit other characters other than English is still set for approval on Friday, which is the final day of the meeting that the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) is holding in South Korea.

According to Peter Dengate Thrush, chairman of ICANN, when this gets approved, it will be the biggest change to the Internet since it was invented 40 years ago. A translation system is designed in order to accommodate this character change in web addresses. And it seems that approval is the only thing that’s missing because the translation system is more than ready to roll. Thrush said that they’ve been testing it for two years now.

This seems like a great development in the Internet. What can you say about it?

Microsoft is making another landmark in the history of technology with today’s release of the much-awaited Windows 7 operating system. The OS is on sale starting today. Yet, days and even weeks before its launch, thousands of people have already placed their orders. Even Amazon is overwhelmed by the number of pre-orders they have for Windows 7. The number of pre-orders has even surpassed those for the last Harry Potter book “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.”

Major retailers are ready for the launch. Some of them are offering packages with the Windows 7 that customers would find hard to resist. Examples are Best Buy and HP. PC World is also set to open at midnight in order to accommodate customer who want to avail of the new OS first hand. Aside from the upgrade, the company will also provide advice on how to maximize the use of Windows 7.

From the looks of things, the demand has just begun. When users finally get a taste of it and give their reviews, millions of other users will follow. This is also aided by the fact that almost everything that’s being said about the Windows 7 is positive. They say that it will erase all the problems brought about by Vista.

Think you could use a bit of magic in your life? Apple’s new Magic Mouse might just be what you need! Magic Mouse features a multi-touch feature that was only previously available in iPhone, iPod Touch, and MacBooks’ Trackpads. So, how does the Magic Mouse work? The Magic Mouse is designed to be wireless and without buttons as well as trackballs, so its surface is really smooth and flawless. It can connect easily any Mac that has Bluetooth. But it also requires Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.8 or later with Wireless Mouse Software Update 1.0.

You can click or double click by means of tapping the Magic Mouse’s surface. And if you want it to function as a two-button mouse, just enable the Secondary Click feature in the System Preference. The Magic Mouse recognizes finger gestures so if you are going to scroll down a page, just use one finger and move it in the direction required. You can easily scroll up/down and left/right merely by moving your finger. Zooming is also easily done in using Magic Mouse.

Apple has integrated a very responsive chip inside this seamless mouse which enables it to easily recognize finger gestures.
