Ooohh here’s another desirable laptop from Sony! But, are you ready for the new Sony VAIO X? This 11.1-inch device is again deemed to be a competitor in the “light” notebook department. Yup, Sony refers to it as a notebook and not a netbook. One thing’s for sure though, it’s a very stylish computing device! Its carbon-fibre body is so intricately done. Sony has it in gold, black and premium carbon.

There’s something new from Sony! The company announced its latest competitor to the ultraportable laptop market. Take a close look at the new 11.1-inch VAIO X series laptop! As an ultra-thin laptop, the X series can’t help but be comparable to Apple’s MacBook Air, which is 0.76-inch thick at its thickest area, while the X series is 0.55-inch thick. This laptop only weighs about 1.5 pounds! lighter than most ultraportable laptops today. Sony is able to make the VAIO X series that thin by using carbon-fiber in making the casing and aluminum for the keyboard.

Sony seems to be preparing a new portable media player that has a hidden mickey on it. A photo from Sony Insider shows players with round navigation controls on them. There is one huge navigator in the middle and two smaller ones on either side! Just look closely and for sure you won’t miss the hidden mickey!

Two new great handy cameras have been released by Sony. Welcome the CX520V and the CX500V. The greatest thing about these two cams is that they are flash memory-based devices. They also come with HD capability making them very reliable in capturing images with 1920 x 1080-pixels of video at 6-fps. It can also capture 12-megapixel still shots. These new Sony handycams also have two new features that they can be really proud of. They both have “Face Touch”, which allows the user to touch a face on-screen and adjustments on the settings and focus will be automatically done by the camera. The other new feature is the so-called upconversion. From 1080i the signal will be converted to 1080p each time you connect the camera to an HDTV through HDMI.

Sony is the latest brand to enter into the netbook market. The Vaio W-Series is the evidence to Sonys latest venture. The new Sony netbook is ready and will go on sale next month. Powering up the latest Sony creation is a 1.66GHz Atom N280 processor. Sound familiar? It’s the same processor used in various netbooks today. It has 1GB system memory and a 160GB 5,400 rpm hard drive. Now, the Sony Vaio W-Series features a 10-inch screen with 1366 x 768-pixels resolution. Its resolution is better than what other netbooks have though.

Change is always a good thing right? So, let’s just look on Sony’s latest attempt to switch on a new memory card format. From the MemoryStick Micro (M2) format, the company is switching to microSDHC cards!

Speculations on the possible change started when Sony Ericsson released two new phones – Yari and Aino – that are built with SD card slots instead of the M2. And when asked if they are really moving from M2, Sony Ericsson’s Global Marketing Director, Fortune Alexander confirmed it with his statement, “Yes, we are moving in that direction.”

Should we say it’s really about time they switch to the modern SD card?

The E3 Expo just showed that the game console war is far from over. When Microsoft’s and Sony’s controllers become available to the market, would Nintendo still be able to hold its leading spot? Nintendo might just lose it position because Sony’s and Microsoft’s controllers are really more advanced and they provide a much more enjoyable way of playing console games.

In a video taken from the Expo, Sony demonstrated just how its new controller will work. The controller which is a short stick with one round end that glows works in sync with the Playstation Eye camera. Through the combined features of the camera and the controller, gamers will feel like they are actually inside the game they’re playing. It has sub-millimeter accuracy and three-dimensional positioning for complex games that requires shooting, drawing, and even assembling blocks. Even at this point, we can see that this upcoming Sony system has great potentials.

Rumorville is busy again. According to the grapevine, Sony is going to launch its PSP Go very soon. Photos and some details of the said portable game console have been leaked to the internet way ahead of the company’s Press Conference. So, are you interested to know what this upcoming PSP has in store for you? This new PSP sports a 3.8-inch wide screen, smaller than the previous models’ 4.3-inch screen. Aside from that, this will also have ample built-in flash memory – 16GB, which can be expanded if desired through the Memory Stick Micro slot.

PlayStation gamers seem to be in a world of their own when they play. Most often stumbling over the cords could not be helped. This scenario is potentially harmful because the important devices might just get damaged. In this case, having add-ons without wires would be a welcome thing, right? You should get the Wireless Keypad that Sony introduced. It’s actually very innovative because the wireless keypad is set over the top of the Sony PS3 controller. You only use your thumbs on the full QWERTY keyboard. I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or not.

Sony had been busy preparing a new and colorful laptop for the European territories. The latest laptop that Sony is proud to announce is the trendy-looking Sony VAIO CS11. Aside from being new, this latest VAIO notebook is available in five amazingly bold colors namely white, red, pink, black, and red. All of them have glossy finishes that add to the laptop's style and elegant look. The color is not only on the casing, it also extend right inside the palm rest and inner surfaces. The front cover has the BAIO logo emblazoned boldly on it, so nobody would mistake this fashionable-looking notebook for anything else.

If you think Sony is only capable of handling handheld game consoles, then you’re outright wrong! Sony is getting ready to launch Bravia TV handheld version. Target date for the release is April of this year. So how would you take that?! Even if the previously released Sony Bravia LCD TV is excellent, there are still a lot of people who did not opt to buy because of its price, and it cannot just be carried anywhere. Creating a mini-version of the Bravia LCD is a genius idea, especially for people out there who want portable entertainment on the go.

Who could resist such a stunning device as this VAIO LT PC/TV? If I see one of these anywhere nearby I’d just take it home for sure! The appearance alone surely feeds the eyes. At first glance on its picture I thought it was a picture frame. The cell phone I use is a Sony Ericsson. It’s been a year since I’ve had this phone and I can say that at this point I still have no intention of upgrading. But buying accessories for it is another matter. And for those who are in the same train of thought, Sony Ericsson has released the HBH-PV703 Bluetooth Headset. Personally, I find this device attractive even if it is just a mid-range model, but I don’t know what you’d think of it the same way. It is also very light and small.

Red has always been an attractive color for me. You’ll probably agree that red is a color that make heads turn whenever and wherever, even more so if it is a deep red color. Sony revealed a new color for their slim PSP. This deep red Sony PSP or PSPJ-20000 with its shiny and gleaming façade would be a perfect gift to make this Christmas. No doubt the recipient would be really thankful for your gift! It will be available in stores in Japan by December 13, just in time for the last minute holiday shopping.
