Tech N Gadgets: Sony

Handheld Sony Bravia TV

If you think Sony is only capable of handling handheld game consoles, then you’re outright wrong! Sony is getting ready to launch Bravia TV handheld version. Target date for the release is April of this year. So how would you take that?! Even if the previously released Sony Bravia LCD TV is excellent, there are still a lot of people who did not opt to buy because of its price, and it cannot just be carried anywhere. Creating a mini-version of the Bravia LCD is a genius idea, especially for people out there who want portable entertainment on the go.

Sony VAIO LT PC TV

Who could resist such a stunning device as this VAIO LT PC/TV? If I see one of these anywhere nearby I’d just take it home for sure! The appearance alone surely feeds the eyes. At first glance on its picture I thought it was a picture frame. Sleekly and delicately designed, the VAIO LT is your work and entertainment device in one since it can be a TV and PC at the same time. If you live in an apartment and space is a problem the VAIO LT with its slim and flat design will be the perfect fit for your lifestyle. Limited space doesn’t have to stop you from experiencing the full potential of the VAIO LT since you can simply place it on your desk OR you can hang it on the wall, whether in your bedroom, living room or kitchen. Well, how convenient can that be?

Sony Ericsson HBH-PV703 Bluetooth Headset

The cell phone I use is a Sony Ericsson. It’s been a year since I’ve had this phone and I can say that at this point I still have no intention of upgrading. But buying accessories for it is another matter. And for those who are in the same train of thought, Sony Ericsson has released the HBH-PV703 Bluetooth Headset. Personally, I find this device attractive even if it is just a mid-range model, but I don’t know what you’d think of it the same way. It is also very light and small.

Red Sony PSP

Red has always been an attractive color for me. You’ll probably agree that red is a color that make heads turn whenever and wherever, even more so if it is a deep red color. Sony revealed a new color for their slim PSP. This deep red Sony PSP or PSPJ-20000 with its shiny and gleaming façade would be a perfect gift to make this Christmas. No doubt the recipient would be really thankful for your gift! It will be available in stores in Japan by December 13, just in time for the last minute holiday shopping.

Sony Davis10

Sony is now also getting busy in the portable home entertainment area. Their latest offering in this area is the Sony Davis10. If you have a limited space this Sony Davis10 is the perfect solution in order to have a great entertainment experience! What makes this so? Well, the first obvious thing is that Davis10 is a compact speaker set that you can place almost in any spot. It also comes as a complete set with a DVD player with AM/FM tuner and A/V ports at the rear portion. And to make things all the more convenient, there’s also the subwoofer cabinet. This cabinet is unlike any you’ve encountered so far because it comes with a driver for low frequencies as well as mid-bass tones.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T2

One of the concerns of a lot of photography buffs is the storage available to them. I’ve been into photography lately myself so I understand that it can be frustrating when the camera’s memory becomes full when there are still lots of beautiful spots to capture on the lenses. Sony has come up with the perfect solution to this dilemma. The newly released Cyber-shot DSC-T2 already contains a built-in 4GB storage so there’s no need to buy a memory card…although this cam also has a memory card slot.

Sony OLED TV

Sony revives its reputation as one of the leaders in technology by unveiling their new extremely thin TV that features an organic light-emitting diode display. Sony calls this new creation of theirs the XEL-1. You can have a satisfying view with the 11-inch display that has that organic light emitting diode. It is as thin as you can imagine, measuring just 3 millimeters thick! What is really unique about this is that Sony made use of OLED that has its foundation on electroluminescent organic materials. This technology is quite ingenious because the materials used can produce light on their own; therefore backlight is no longer needed in order deliver those crystal clear images at a rate 1,000 time s faster than the LCD.

New Sony VAIO CR20

After some time of silence in the laptop and notebook department, Sony heats up the market with their new line of VAIO laptop, presenting the VAIO CR20 and the VAIO NR10 series. If you are on the look out for an upgrade of your present laptop into a more stylish, trendy and capable one, you name it, the new VAIO series could be what you’re after. When it comes to the internals, these two laptops have almost the same. If you take them apart, which I’m sure you won’t, what you’ll find are the Intel Core 2 Duo T7250 2GHz CPU, Santa Rosa Chipset, 2GB RAM, 200GB hard drive.

Sony Rolly Music Player

Sony’s Rolly digital music player surely stands out form the rest! We have all become accustomed to slim and flat music players to this new Rolly by Sony stick out like a sore thumb. Obviously there’s no denying that fact primarily because of its shape, a white egg-shaped and winged device that easily fits on your palm. It is small and light weighing only 300 g, 104 mm long and 65 mm around. Within its make up are the speakers that blast out the tunes for you. And while the music plays Rolly can rotate, flap the wing-like protrusion and flash vibrant lights. The Rolly can move or “dance” using simple choreography but if you want something more advanced there’s a package available for download at the Sony website.

Facts and figures will show that Sony’s PlayStation3 is really lagging behind Nintendo and Xbox. The two console brands already sold 8 million and 11.6 million units respectively while Sony only have 4.3 units to boast about. So that means they have to find some other way of enticing customers to take more of the PS3. And they have with the new device, which they called as the PlayTV, as announced in the Games Convention in Leipzig, Germany. This PlayTV is a device that is both a television tuner and a personal video recorder! Through this new device, users will be able to record live TV shows straight on the console. The stored content can also be moved to the PlayStation Portable in case you want to view it sometime in the future.

Sony Cyber-Shot

Sony had made and released several models of digital cameras for the world market. Among their popular models are the Cyber-Shot series. Many consumers availed of them because of their cute appearance and capable performance. However, there’s bad news for those who bought the Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-T5 that was released back in 2005.

Sony USM-HX USB

If you need a new and high-performing USB you could try Sony Japan’s recently unveiled mini USM-HX series USB drives.
