Nokia’s Lumia 800 handset is not among the handsets that will receive the Windows Phone 8 operating system. This, I think is a sad thing. But it’s all bad news for the Nokia Lumia 800 because this handset will soon be at the receiving end of the Windows Phone 7.8 update a.k.a. Tango!

Nokia Lumia 900 Coming in Adorable Pink

I think Nokia has just found a way to endear its Lumia 900 Windows Phone to the ladies. How you ask? By making it available in hot pink color! The Nokia Lumia 900 is currently available only in black, white and cyan, colors that cater to both the sexes. But with pink, well, it’s clearly meant for the ladies. But if you’re a male who can’t resist the color pink, you can get it too from AT&T!
According to a recent announcement from AT&T, the pink Lumia 900 will be available from their store starting July 15. Wow that’s just five days away so you don’t have to wait long. Those interested in the pink Lumia 900 can get it for $99.99 with a two-year contract. It’s the same price and contract as its Lumia 900 siblings.
Nokia Reveals Google and Asus Infringe its Patents in Nexus 7

Patent infringement trouble is not only limited to Apple and Samsung, it seems Nokia is calling out Google and Asus on the same issue with their newly-launched Nexus 7 tablet.
According to reports, the infringement has something to do with the IEEE 802.11 WiFi standard. A spokesperson from Nokia said that their company has more than 40 licensees including a lot of mobile device makers who pay for the privilege of using their technology but Google and Asus are not among them.
Nokia Cuts Losses by Letting Go of 10,000 Jobs

Sad news for Nokia employees! The Finnish company has announced that it will cut off as many as 10,000 jobs all over the world! It will also close down some of its plants in order to cut down costs and make its operations more efficient.
Some of the plants that will be closed down include those in Germany and Canada. Even the main plant in Finland doesn’t go unhurt. It will only be retained for the purpose of research and development operations.
Nokia to Release Windows Phone 8 This Year

If you are among the many that are waiting for the launch of the first Windows Phone 8, I think you’re in luck! You won’t have to wait for it until next year after all! If rumors are to be believed that is. This latest bit about the Windows Phone 8 is considered a rumor since it didn’t come from Nokia.
Nokia’s distributor in Israel, Eurocom, told the Israeli publication Techit.co.il that the new Windows Phone 8 will actually be in the market before the year ends!

You see, both handsets have Nokia Browser that allows smooth access to the Internet especially Facebook, Twitter, and other social networks. They also have access to the Nokia Store so consumers can easily choose from thousands of apps to download.
Nokia Offers Great Fix for Lumia 900 Problem!

Earlier this week, Nokia’s message board was bombarded with complaints that their Nokia Lumia 900 handsets don’t have Internet connectivity. The problem’s too vital to ignore hence was immediately checked out by Nokia. They were able to trace the problem and have provided a solution!
According to Nokia, the loss of data connectivity was due to a software issue and they are going to roll out an update that will fix the problem. Affected Lumia 900 owners can avail of the software update on or around April 16.
Nokia Lumia PureView Leaked!

Nokia surprised the world when it unveiled the 808 PureView phone that boasts an amazing 41-pixels sensor and Carl Zeiss lenses. However, many were disappointed that Nokia chose to match it with a Symbian OS instead of Windows OS. But it looks like there’s still hope for the those who are hoping the PureView concept will make its way to a Windows Phone.

Nokia to Get Under Your Skin with Vibrating Magnetic Tattoo

Finnish company Nokia is taking vibrating alert to a whole new level! Instead of feeling the vibration while having the close to your body, phone owners will soon sense it through a tattoo! Nokia filed for patent for the said technology at the US Patent and Trademark Office.
This new technology, invented by Zoran Radivojevic of Cambridge, is a vibrating magnetic tattoo that is composed of ferromagnetic material that is attached to the human skin. There’s a process that needs to be followed for the tattoo to work efficiently.
Nokia 808 PureView Camera Phone Has 41 Megapixels!

No longer satisfied with the photography capability of your phone? Then perhaps the newly-unveiled Nokia 808 PureView is what you’ve been waiting for! This is a new camera phone that is equipped with an astounding 41 megapixels! This is even higher than Nikon D800’s 36 megapixel sensor!
Nokia is sticking to Carl Zeiss lenses and Xenon flash so this camera is capable of shooting 7728 x 5368 in 16:9 format but users can also program it to 4:3 in 7152 x 5368. The camera is also capable of recording video in 1080p. Aside from the super high sensor, the Nokia 808 PureView has a unique “over sampling” feature that compresses 7 pixels into 1 pixel for a highly-detailed image.
Nokia N9 Made to Run Android Ice Cream Sandwich!

The N9 handset is one of the best devices Nokia ever made. But sadly, the MeeGo OS device did not flourish as expected. Still, it’s a very promising phone with its amazing 3.9-inch AMOLED Capacitive screen, 8MP camera with Carl Zeiss optics and 1GHz TI OMAP Cortex A8 CPU and 1GB RAM.
Many developers think it has potential too if the OS was changed to something better. Alexey Roslyakov, a developer of the NITDroid team, tried doing just that! He posted some photos on Twitter of his little handiwork of loading the N9 with the latest Android Ice Cream Sandwich!
Symbian Belle Rumored to Launch on February 8?

It seems that Symbian owners don’t have to worry because Nokia hasn’t forgotten them. In fact, Nokia might be releasing the much-needed Belle update to the existing Symbian Anna operating system! Although rumors regarding this matter have been around for some time, there was actually no mention of the exact date of release!
However, Nokia’s Vietnam office accidentally published that the rumored Nokia Symbian Belle will be launched on February 8, 2012! You can’t see the page now because it’s been removed already. Luckily though, some websites were able to get a screenshot of the said page!
