When I hear about music phones what usually comes to mind is Sony Ericsson with its series of Walkman phones. But now music phones should not only be associated with this brand because Nokia has also come up with its own models of music phones – the new XpressMusic series composed of the Nokia 5320 and the Nokia 5220. These two music-enabled devices will work together with the new Nokia Music Store. These candy bar-styled phones will come with a price tag ranging from $254 to $350.

Going to the specifics of each phone the Nokia 5320 XpressMusic runs on the S60 UI Symbian platform. It has 3G/HSDPA connectivity. As a device dedicated t o music, the Nokia 5320 features external music controls, stereo Bluetooth, stereo FM radio and a 3.5mm audio jack. Another neat music feature of this device is the Nokia Say and Play that enables the user to control the player by means of his voice. This is also integrated with N-Gage gaming for more entertainment that is why it has an 8-way navigation keypad. Other features include the 2-inch 16M color TFT display, 2 megapixel snapper and microSD card slot for up 8GB memory. This will be available in black/blue or black/red motif.

Handset makers are always looking for ways on how they can outdo the efforts of the other. Maybe Nokia cannot fathom the fact that Apple’s iPhone is still considered as the ultimate multimedia device that is why they have come up with a handset to overthrow the iPhone from its perch. Photos and bits of information have been leaked on the web showing Nokia Tube – the iPhone killer. Based from the leaked photos, the Nokia Tube has a glossy finish and makes use of a stylus. For its physical dimensions, the Tube is somewhere around 3-3.5-inches with a wide touchscreen.

Nokia Morph Concept

We have to commend Nokia’s untiring resolve in bringing new communication technology to the market. The new Nokia products getting so much buzz these last few days is the Morph Concept. Mind you, this is still a phone concept, very much still on its embryonic stage but as you can see it’s getting so much publicity already. And you know what? Nokia’s Morph concept phone was given the benefit of a full-length write-up in the New York Times. It is also exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art located in the Big Apple.

Not long ago I wrote about Nokia’s effort in making their handsets more green or environment friendly. Aside from the Eco Sensor Concept that they are working on, reports have it that this number one handset maker is also developing a phone that makes use of recycled materials. They call this the Remade mobile device concept. According to Nokia’s website, “It has been designed using recycled materials that avoid the need for natural resources, reduce landfill, and allow for more energy efficient production.”

Nokia N96

Nokia has a new toy offered on the market, the N96 which is said to be the successor of the famous N95. After some weeks of having this handset’s information circulating around the web, we finally have it official. Made more stylish and more feature-filled than its predecessor, the Nokia N96 is of a slider design that has backlit buttons on the top portion. Sliding the phone will reveal the full keypad. It’s none other than the 16GB of internal memory that is double the capacity of the N95 which only holds 8GB memory. And there’s even an SD card slot for more storage.

It is not good for any company to stagnate. Nokia seems to think so as well as they are once again on their way to accelerating their software approach with the acquisition of a company names Trolltech ASA. A lot of us have not heard of this company since it is based in Oslo, Norway. So why is Nokia taking an interest in this company? Well, Trolltech, formerly known as Quasar Technologies, is a software provider that supplies world-class software development platforms and framework. With this company as one of their divisions, Nokia will be able to develop much better products for the consumers around the world, especially for mobile devices, desktop applications and internet services business.

A lot of companies these days are finding ways on how to make their products more environment–friendly. This can be observed in the automobile industry with their hybrid vehicles. Top handset maker Nokia is also embarking on making their products green. Nokia has what they call as the Eco Sensor Concept. There are two great parts to look forward to in this concept. One is the wearable sensor unit, which can analyze your health and surroundings and the second one a mobile phone.

If you are a Nokia devotee and you’ve been waiting for the company to roll out more accessories, your prayer has been answered as Nokia unveils two mobile phone accessories. No more fumbling with the controls in order to swap between these two applications since the headsets do them automatically. Once a call comes, the music automatically stops then resumes on the same track as soon as the call is finished.

These two new Nokia headsets differ in design. The WH-600 is made in a headband style that can cancel out the environmental noise since it is fitted right over the ears. It offers simple volume control and call handling. It makes use of the standard 3.5 connectors.

Nokia N95

The Nokia N95 is one if not the greatest multimedia phones to ever grace the market. Though it has been out for some time now not all countries have the benefit of using and enjoying it, like U.S. It’s only this coming September that Nokia will sell a U.S. version of the N95. In the U.S N95 version, Nokia integrates support for AT&T Wireless HSPDA network. This would be one big advantage of American over Europeans because the HSPDA feature will allow them to look around the web with the speed of 1 megabit per second.
