On July 7th the new Motorola Rokr E8 will make its debut through T-Mobile. As such, you can only get it exclusively at T-Mobile for $199 and a two-year contract.
By all appearances, Roker E8 has resemblance to the other Motorola phones, I guess that can’t be helped. Using it will make you see the big difference though. Motorola Rokr E8 has ModeShift that transforms the phone to a music player. It makes use of Windows Media Player. You can immediately listen to it since it comes pre-loaded with music. But if you don’t want to listen to MP3s, there’s always the built-in FM tuner.

Motorola Becoming Two Separate Entities

As was announced yesterday, Motorola is splitting itself into two independent companies. One will focus on the making mobile gadgets while the other will take on development of network infrastructure. The process of the separation is still ongoing and if all their negotiations succeed, the official split will happen in 2009.
