It seems that Nokia is not alone in its drive to bring pure entertainment close to the masses. The Swedish mobile maker Ericsson with its partner Japanese giant Sony, is now catching with the mobile TV concept. After a flourishing venture into the world of handset production they will now try their hand in providing solution for connecting gadgets into the world and this time through mobile TV. And aside from that, they are also thinking of broadband TV.

Because of the various technological advancements happening today, Ericsson and Sony foresees a mass market for mobile TV within two years time. With the mass market, they aim to capture at least 30% of users that regularly watch television through their cell phones. If this vision is reached, it will open up more business for the content producers and network distributors.

P903i Mobile Phone

The owner keeps a card in his pocket or wallet about the size of a movie ticket. The phone locks onto this ticket wirelessly and if it gets too far away, it locks down to prevent other from using it. Furthermore, if it gets stolen, then you can track it via satellite!

Nokia Cell Phone

Inspired by the success of the RAZR and Chocolate phones from rivals, Nokia, the world’s leading mobile phone maker announced that it will be giving new Nokia models real names instead of numbers. Says Keith Pardy, head of marketing at Nokia, “What you will see coming from us in the future is not just a numbering system, you are going to start to see names that carry a meaning and are important to consumers.”

Nokia new three fashionable phones

Nokia adds three fashionable phones to its L’Amour range; these are the Nokia 7390, Nokia 7373 and the Nokia 7360. The company said it will begin shipping all these new mobile phones starting this fall. The Nokia 7390, the most expensive of the three, is a 3G phone. It will be sold for about $578 (taxes and subsidies not included) while the 7373 and 7360 will be sold for $450 and $257 respectively.

Tattooed Motorola RAZR

The RAZR phone is one of the most successful mobile phones in the market; it’s not surprising that Motorola continues to indulge RAZR addicts with a great variety of RAZR phones. Among them is the pink Motorola RAZR that proved consumers’ fondness for stylish and more personalized gadgets. This holiday season, Motorola is set to release in the market another stylish RAZR phone, a “tattooed” Motorola RAZR!

This Motorola RAZR phone will have laser-etched images on the phone’s casing. One of these laser-etched RAZRs is a black handset featuring a cool Chinese dragon tattoo design. Ami James will be doing all the designs for the tattooed RAZRs, but don’t you think it’s a great idea if users can have their own design etched on the phone? That would make your RAZR a lot more personal!

Nokia N80 Internet Edition

Nokia announced that it will be offering in September an Internet Edition of the Nokia N80 multimedia phone. This new Nokia N80 can be used both as a regular mobile phone and as a VoIP phone. It allows users to download voice over IP calling applications from any VoIP service and it has wireless LAN wizard that helps users locate and configure wireless Internet connection.

Apart from VoIP calling and Web browsing, users of the new Nokia N80 Internet Edition can also enjoy easy photo sharing through Yahoo Go and e-book reading through Amazon MobiPocket Reader. This new phone also features Yahoo Mobile Search application that lets you find local info, driving directions, maps and more. This also lets users combine Yahoo e-mail and contacts with the cell phone. N80 Internet edition is also equipped with Nokia’s Download that lets you find and download new compatible applications.

Sony Ericsson Z610

Sony Ericsson recently introduced the stylish Sony Ericsson Z610 3G clamshell phone. It features a hidden “magic mirror” external screen which reveals itself only when you receive a call, SMS or MMS or when reminder is displayed. When the phone is in use, the screen lights up making the caller information appear like it’s floating on the face of this phone and when the phone is no longer in use, the screen disappears.

New Sony Ericsson Z610 3G

Although designed to attract style-conscious buyers, Sony Ericsson equipped the Z610 3G phone with lots of features you anyone would want from a high-tech communication gadget including a 2-inch screen for excellent video calling and Internet browsing, 2-megapixle camera, music player with MP3/AAC/AAC+/eAAC+ support and Bluetooth connectivity. Through Sony Ericsson Z610 3G’s Memory Stick Micro support, you store loads of high quality pictures, video clips, and MP3s in it.

Motorola ROKR E2

Since Motorola i-Tunes ROKR music phone was introduced last year, it has not gained enough praises or equaled the success of its rivals in the market including the LG Chocolate phone, but Motorola is hopeful that the ROKR phone will finally make it this time by introducing the latest music-optimized phone, the ROKR E2. The new Linux-based music phone unveiled in Singapore offers more music, faster connection to a compatible PC and more ease of use. Music enthusiasts are definitely hoping this phone’s going to be a lot better than the earlier model.

Nokia N71

After a long wait, the Nokia N71 finally lands on the shores of Japan. This phone is among the nine high-performance multimedia Nokia Nseries handsets introduced since last year. The Nokia N71 will be available through Vodafone K.K., which renames it as the Vodafone 804NK. This phone is the first among the Nseries to debut in Japan and is the 4th Nokia 3G mobile phone to be launched in Japan.

BenQ-Siemens S68

BenQ-Siemens S68, with its unique design, slim body, functionality and admirable technical features has gained a lot of favorable reviews since its introduction in the first quarter of 2006. Upon introduction, BenQ-Siemens S68 donned an elegant Brushed Aluminum casing, now it comes with hard-wearing and scratch-resistant stainless steel and ceramics case. The display is also coated to resist scratches. The new look definitely adds a lot of style and elegance to this phone. However, this is not for everyone eager to get this stylish handset. The BenQ-Siemens S68 Ceramics Edition will be sold only in Germany.

Trolltech Cell Phone

Coming out in the market next month is Trolltech’s open Linux-based phone called Qtopia Greenphone. It is the first cell phone that can be reprogrammed; thereby, it gives commercial and independent application developers as well as cell phone manufacturers endless possibilities for innovation. Software and source code are provided with the handset to enable users to create a unique cell phone model. Trolltech is a leading provider of Linux software for cell phone manufacturers; to date, there are forty mobile phone models made with Trolltech’s software.

The Trolltech Greenphone flaunts a slim candybar design, a QVGA touchscreen display and will have a 1.3-megapixel camera. It will run on GSM/GPRS standard and will feature a dual-code Marvell XScale processor, a 64MB storage capacity and expandable 128MB flash memory. It also features Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. This phone is expected to be priced at around $690.

The mobile phone market is teeming with lots of good-looking communication gadgets that also double as music players, digital and video cameras, mobile TV devices, gaming gadgets and computers and not to mention, fashion accessories! Hence, cell phone manufacturers need to be ingenious enough to create the best phones not only in terms of technical features but as well as in terms of design. LG seems to be focusing on the latter aspect these days that recently it’s taking great efforts to bring to us more goodies like its famous Chocolate phones.

Disney D100 Phone for Kids

FCC recently approved the new Disney D100 handset, a cute mobile phone designed mainly for kids. It measures only 3.89 x 2.02 x 0.95 inches and comes with a Mickey Mouse answer and reject buttons and a 12-button or optional four-button keypad. Disney D100, the first self-branded Disney handset, is much simpler when it comes to technical features compared to the first two phones launched by Disney Mobile, the LG DM-L200 and the Pantech DM-P100, which had a digital camera.

Nokia 8800 Sirocco Edition

Here comes another special edition of the Nokia 8800, a more stylish Sirocco Edition compared to the earlier introduced Nokia 8800 Aston Martin Edition. Oh well, it’s a less expensive mobile phone but not cheap—it costs 1099 Euros and that’s about $1400! If you can shell out for an Aston Martin and a luxurious phone, then you can probably afford the Nokia 8800 Sirocco Edition, too. It’s definitely not for common mobile users, but if you would want to spend that much for a phone anyway, you can pre-order it now.
