Casio’s new Exilim phone is finally available! The Casio Exilim C721 is a rugged-looking phone whose flip design comes with a rotating screen. The screen can also be flipped totally outward, so it can serve as a viewfinder at the same time. One of its most outstanding features is its 5.1-megapixel camera lens, which is surely awesome for taking colorful and real-life images. It also includes 15 Best Shot modes that a user can manipulate to come up with the desired effect. Some of these modes include Portraits, Night Mode, and Scenery. Land Rover and Sonim Technologies’ partnership is not a surprise to us. They are not the first car maker and technology provider to team up to create a one-of-a-kind handset. They aim to create mobile phones that will be ideal for people who love the ruggedness of the outdoors. Right now they are already working on three phone designs. Two of them – the Land Rover S1 and the Land Rover S2 G4 – are set to be released in early 2009. The third one will be launched at a much later date. And even if you drop it in water or concrete from a 1.6m height, it will not shatter to pieces.
Fujitsu Reveals Break-Apart Phone Design

If there was a cell phone that comes in two separate parts would you buy one? If your answer is yes, then, you are obligated to buy Fujitsu’s handset of the future. This company which teamed up with NTT DoCoMo of Japan recently revealed its break-apart phone concept. I’m not sure how long Fujitsu thought and planned this concept but finally they let the cat out of the bag. Instead of just a one-piece phone you will be getting a phone that is comprised of two separate pieces. One of the two halves contains the display while the second piece carries the keyboard. One of the halves is a touchscreen that offers virtual keyboard, numeric keypad, and game controller.

In the whole time that I’ve been writing about phones, it is only now that I’ve come across a wooden phone! Yes, a phone made of wood! Perhaps this is brought about by the fact that there is already PCs being made of wood and bamboo, so why not apply it to cell phones as well?
