Six New Laptops Hot from Toshiba Facilities

Six new laptops have been churned out recently from the Toshiba facilities. After some time of silence, this came as a surprise really because instead of having just one new laptop, Toshiba came up with six! This could be quite a selection. Three out of the six new laptops belongs to Toshiba’s P205 series and the other three is included in the A205 series. Among the P205 are the models S637, S6267 and the S6287. Generally these P205 series are installed with 17-inch display that features 1,440 x 900 pixel resolution, Windows Vista Home Premium as its OS, a DVD burner that has the so-called “Labelfish” technology. In terms of hard drives, the S367, S6267 and S6287 are integrated with up to 200GB hard drive. Each of them also runs on the integrated 1.7-GHz Pentium dual-core processor, 1.8 GHz Core Duo Processor and 1.7GHz Core 2 Duo processor, respectively.

Falcon Northwest Let Loose New Fragbook TLX

One of the notable yet rarely mentioned PC producer is Falcon Northwest, a company that’s located in Medford, Oregon. But just recently they released a laptop that will definitely leave tongues wagging. Yep the new flame colored Intel Core 2 Duo-powered Fragbook TLX or “thin and light” series model.

This laptop is so handy and measures only 17 inches with 1680 x 1050 resolution. Using this laptop is not so strenuous to the eyes since it comes equipped with the anti-glare WSXGA LCD. Other features also include NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600 graphics, MSI 80211G LAN Card, a 256 MB VRAM graphics processing unit, TV tuner and realtek stereo speakers.

Burning Notebooks Finds Solution in Lithium Ion Batteries

Burning batteries and laptops, notebooks and recalls of said items are some of the highlights in the technological world during 2006. Well, this coming year Matsushita Electric Industrial also known as Panasonic hopes that things will be different for notebook and laptop users.

The company recently announced that they have a new design for batteries that will be safer than the previous ones. The battery they are talking about is the lithium ion batteries that contain heat resistance layer or HLR. This layer consists of an insulating metal oxide on the surface of the electrodes. This feature is the best thing about its construction the risk of the battery catching fire is lessened. Matsushita claims that even if the battery goes on short-circuit, it still will not overheat.

It’s seems that Blu-ray drives will be the standard in the next few months with the release of both a notebook and a desktop by Sony that feature a blu ray drive burner which gives you up to 50 GB of storage on a single Blu-ray Disc. The new Sony notebook which joined the Sony Vaio series has a 17 inch WUXGA widescreen display with a resolution of 1920 x 1200, a core duo T2500 processor, a 256 MB nVidia GeForce Go 7600 GT graphics card and a 200 GB Hard Disk Drive.

Apple's first new laptop since the company switched to Intel processors, is the Apple MacBook Pro. A 15.4-inch Laptop that features a Centrino Core Duo processor, scrolling track pad, the Sudden Motion Sensor & an excellent software package.
The MacBook Pro comes in two configurations: a 1.83 GHz model for $1,999, and a 2 GHz model for $2,499.
