Research in Motion finally unveiled the handset that will be its competitor to the iPhone. The Blackberry Storm looks like it has what it takes to rival the iPhone with its all-touch-screen design. Yup, you can already gain access to the various applications by merely touching the screen, a feature which RIM calls as Click-Through Technology. You have to physically press the screen to activate the application you need to. Four buttons are found at the bottom of the screen that users can click if they don’t want to use the touch-screen. This new device supports 3G as well as Verizon’s EvDO rev Network. Bluetooth and GPS are also functional within the phone. Be warned though that it does not have Wi-Fi.

Easy DRM-Free Music Transfer with Blackberry Media Sync

Apple’s iTunes is the most popular online music retailer and digital media player at this time. Last Wednesday, Research in Motion unleashed the Blackberry Media Sync to allow users to easily transfer DRM-free music files from iTunes to their Blackberry handsets, in the Blackberry Pearl and 8800 series smartphones to be exact. Take note that the songs that can be transferred are those that are not protected by digital management rights or DRM. Furthermore, the kinds of files that can be transferred via Blackberry Media Sync are wav, mp3, m4a and aac. This software by RIM is now available for free download from their site. Aside from songs, Blackberry Media Sync also transfers album artwork. Remember though that it only works with Windows XP and Windows Vista both in 32-bit.

After a long time of silence Blackberry is taking up the news once again. There have been linked photos of a rumored new handset from RIM. This new handset is called Blackberry Thunder which is also said to have the potential to rival the iPhone? Is this true? Well, let us see the rest of what Thunder has to offer. This new Blackberry phone has two kinds of touch keypad - full QWERTY and SureType. These two can’t be used at the same time. SureType can be used for portrait mode while QWERTY is for landscape or in sideways position. The screen is huge as you can see from the picture, which is 360 x 480 resolution.
