Raspberry Pi Double Graphics Performance Than iPhone 4S?!

The Raspberry Pi’s innovative design is already impressive on its own. Never have we seen a computer like it. But based on the latest from Raspberry Pi executive director Eben Upton, there are more impressive things to the handy computer aside from its design.
In his interview with Digital Foundry, Upton claims that this $25-$30 PC is capable of unleashing twice the performance of the iPhone 4S! And not only that, he also asserts that the Raspberry Pi’s GPU called BCM2835 is more powerful than even the Tegra 2 chip!
Custom-designed by an expert team of developers at Broadcom in Cambridge, BCM2835 comes with a tile mode architecture that’s been configured for a very huge amount of shader performance and because of this “it does well on compute-intensive benchmarks, and should double iPhone 4S performance across a range of content.”
There have been several demos of the Raspberry Pi where it showcases excellent performance while gaming and video streaming.
If the Raspberry Pi is indeed capable of the performance that Upton claims, then he just gave people, not just kids and schools, all the more reason to want one.
