Skype on Android

Avid users of Skype will be glad to know that the company has updated its Android app. The VoIP-calling app is now available on handsets that run Android 2.2 Froyo or the latest Android OS. Skype’s official blog specifically named the Samsung Galaxy S as the phone that can handle the Skype app.

Aside from that, Android phone users can now also store the Skype app in their phone’s SD card. However, the data that Skype uses will still be stored in the phone’s internal memory. Though the app is already on the SD card, about 15MB of the internal memory will be taken up by the said data.

But at least having it on the SD card will make it easier to transfer to another device.

Samsung Galaxy S owners are surely rejoicing with this news. Hopefully, it will be available on other Android handsets as well, soon just to be fair!
