What Makes the Rumoured Google Chrome OS-based Netbook Special?

A Google Chrome OS-based netbook... how do you like the sound of that? Google is really serious about producing and releasing it very own netbook. According to the news, Google has already been in touch with several manufacturers about its production. And right now many techies are already speculating about the possible specs that this rumoured Google netbook will have. Do you have any idea?

Here’s what we’ve found out so far. Of course it’s going to have Chrome OS. The chipset will be from Nvidia Tegra line and power will come from an ARM CPU.

Aside from that, the rumoured netbook will also have a 10.1-inch TFT HD-ready multi-touch display. The multi-touch feature is definitely something to look forward to. It’s also going to have a 64GB SSD, 2GB RAM. Connectivity will include WiFi, 3G, and Bluetooth. Ethernet port, USB ports, webcam, 3.5mm audio jack, and multi-card reader. With these specs, the netbook is expected to provide access to Google Map, Gmail, Google Docs, Google Search by Voice, and Google Calendar.

The rumoured Google Chrome OS-based netbook is expected to cost $300 when it gets launched in late 2010.

    $300! Provided they don't jack up the price for europe (which they will) that would make it an absolute steal!
