Is thin still in? Samsung certainly believes so. Proof of this is the newest LCD panel it unveiled on Wednesday. Measuring just 3.9-inches, the 40-inch Full HD is now the thinnest LCD panel in the world! Just imagine, this LCD is 2mm thinner than the standard #2 pencil. This latest entertainment device is even fondly nicknamed “Needle Thin LCD.” With the size it has, it’s not surprising. It would be great to own this baby and be able to display it in the living room.

This thinnest LCD is not all about appearances. It is also capable of providing superior images for an enjoyable movie marathon. The new Samsung LCD features LED backlighting. Its 120GHz refresh rate will allow fast display of images. The contrast ratio of 5,000:1 also contributes a lot to the sharpness and clarity of the display.

Samsung hasn’t made any statement as to when this will be available for the market, or how much it’s going to cost when it goes on sale.
