Microsoft is making another landmark in the history of technology with today’s release of the much-awaited Windows 7 operating system. The OS is on sale starting today. Yet, days and even weeks before its launch, thousands of people have already placed their orders. Even Amazon is overwhelmed by the number of pre-orders they have for Windows 7. The number of pre-orders has even surpassed those for the last Harry Potter book “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.”

Major retailers are ready for the launch. Some of them are offering packages with the Windows 7 that customers would find hard to resist. Examples are Best Buy and HP. PC World is also set to open at midnight in order to accommodate customer who want to avail of the new OS first hand. Aside from the upgrade, the company will also provide advice on how to maximize the use of Windows 7.

From the looks of things, the demand has just begun. When users finally get a taste of it and give their reviews, millions of other users will follow. This is also aided by the fact that almost everything that’s being said about the Windows 7 is positive. They say that it will erase all the problems brought about by Vista.
