Nokia Announces Ovi Lifecasting with Ovi Maps

Got a Nokia N97? Be one of the first to try out Nokia’s newly announced app, the Ovi Lifecasting. This is currently available as a beta version. Ovi Lifecasting is basically a tool that enables a user to stream updates to his Facebook account using the N97 mobile phone or the N97 mini. But, before that can be done, the user must first download the Ovi Maps and Ovi Lifecasting widget straight into his device. Then he must log on to his Nokia account and then connect to Facebook. From there he can already make updates about his location as well as his status.

He can even let his Facebook contacts know his exact location through the Ovi Maps. In addition, if he sees something interesting on his location, he can take a picture and attach it when he makes an update on the Ovi Maps. Geotagging is one of the great features of this new Nokia app.

However, it makes me think that this new app is just one of the many. If people want to update their Facebook accounts they can easily do so in their computers. Some mobile phones that support web browsing can also be used for this purpose. That’s my personal point of view. However, we want to know what you think!
