Thin is still in as far as notebooks are concerned. MSI for one has proven that the competition for the thin and light notebook is not over yet with its launch of the new MSI X600. Take note that this particular model is only for sale in the U.S. at the moment. It’s on sale right now at Amazon and Newegg for $800. The MSI X600, however, is a contradiction to the market that it wants to conquer. I don’t know what you think of 2.5-kilos for a supposedly thin and light notebook because that’s how heavy the MSI X600 is.
The 15.6-inch MSI X600 is equipped with Intel 1.4 GHz Core 2 ULV CPU. All its graphics capability, including the HXGA display depends on the ATI HD 4330 graphics card. For storage, the netbook has a 320 GB hard drive and 4 GB RAM. You can connect to the web via 802.11bgn and W-Fi. It also comes with Bluetooth, HDMI. Two USB ports and a 1.4-megapixel webcam are also present.
It comes with an external DVD/CD drive in the box. Consider it the icing on the cake.
Two choices of color are available for those who are interested. MSI X600 comes in black and silver colors.
