Samsung has come up with its own “green” phone. The new Samsung Reclaim also known as SPH-M560 is the newest addition to Samsung’s handset line. Why is it classified as an environmentally-friendly phone? The fact that it is composed of 80% of recyclable materials makes it so. A part of it is also made up of corn-based bio-plastics. And to help make the environment better, Samsung will be donating $2 of each sale to the Nature Conservancy Adopt an Acre program.

Aside from being environmentally friendly, Samsung Reclaim also provides all kinds of functionalities for easy communication. At a glance, the Samsung Reclaim looks like a simple handset with its 3.9 by 2.3-inch dimensions. In front are several keys to make access easier - a circular rocker button used for navigation, a voicemail key, a back key, and a start call/end button. The dominating feature in front is the 2.4-inch 320 x 240-pixels display. It’s also equipped with a 2-megapixel camera and camcorder.

The new Samsung Reclaim is a slider phone. When it slides up, the QWERTY keypad is revealed. The keys’ distances are just right to make typing easy. Reclaim boasts of a 600-contact phone book where the user can input various information about the contacts. Various applications are also supported by this handset including MySpace, ScanLife, Sprint Social Zone, Facebook, Sprint Navigation, YouTube, and a lot more. It comes with GPS.

Samsung Reclaim is available at Sprint for $130 with a 2-year contract. By the way, it’s available in ocean blue and earth green colors.
