Sony is the latest brand to enter into the netbook market. The Vaio W-Series is the evidence to Sonys latest venture. The new Sony netbook is ready and will go on sale next month. Powering up the latest Sony creation is a 1.66GHz Atom N280 processor. Sound familiar? It’s the same processor used in various netbooks today. It has 1GB system memory and a 160GB 5,400 rpm hard drive. Now, the Sony Vaio W-Series features a 10-inch screen with 1366 x 768-pixels resolution. Its resolution is better than what other netbooks have though.
The Sony W-Series supports Ethernet, 802.11a/b/g, and Bluetooth technology. Getting and transferring data is made easier with these kinds of connectivity. 2 USB ports, VGA Out, webcam, memory stick duo slot, and SD memory slot are also available.
Some applications that the Series comes with include Sony’s VAIO Multimedia Suite, a trial version of Norton Internet Security 2009, and a trial version of Microsoft Home and Student 2007.
This netbook which will cost around $500 is very portable, weighing just 2.6 pounds. Sony is known for its colorful creations, and the W-Series is not exempted as it comes in berry pink, sugar white, and cocoa brown colors.
seems like a good product, but the display seems to be the only thing distinguishing it form the rest of the pack.
That and the fact that the HDD isn't Solid State
I think $500 is a bit too much for such configuration, i would rather get an asus (the one you review earlier), besides i don't trust sony's battery anymore, my last vaio battery lasts less than 6 month despite careful use!!!
