Buying E-Books? Try out Scribd

Scribd

Pretty soon a new name in online publishing will be on everyone’s lips. Scribd is a fast-growing website where anyone can upload digital content such as books, research reports, and other printed materials. People who want their works to be visible to potential clients will benefit from the exposure that Scribd provides, especially now that it has over 60 million visitors every month. Authors and publishers will be glad to use Scribd as their online publishing platform because it provides them with the choice to set the prices for their work and the level of copyright protection it will have.

Founded by three persons: Jared Friedman, Trip Adler, and Tikhon Bernstam, Scribd has only been in the business for two years, yet its success seems to be phenomenal already. And it’s going to be bigger because it signed up a deal with a major publishing house Simon and Schuster. The deal includes selling 4,500 e-books for sale on the site. Purchases can already be made now that Scribd has already opened up its store.

Well, Amazon had better watch out. It looks like Scribd has something really going for it.

Scribd gets massive amounts of traffic and I believe they will do well with this.

I have been using them for quite some time to get targeted traffic to my many websites.

I think I may try my hand at selling some books also.
