I’m beginning to have a great liking for colorful gadgets. Maybe that’s the reason why this new SmartQ 7 didn’t escape my eyes. This is the better-looking sibling of the SmartQ 5 MID that was unveiled a few months ago, if you’ve heard of it. This attractive internet tablet features a crystal clear 7-inch WVGA touchscreen, which by the way is the reason for its name. This screen with 800 x 400 pixel resolution is the first thing that you’ll notice in this device and if you look at its shell, you can’t help but admire the subtly curved edges.
But aside from the attractive shell, the SmartQ 7 also features good but not spectacular capabilities. The said device operates on an unspecified Linux distro. It has WiFi for connectivity, a USB-host mode, and stereo speakers. You can listen to music using the SmartQ 7 for 2 days on a single charge of the 4500m Ah Li-Poly battery. In front of the device you’ll see a dedicated FN button for instant access to its applications.
The SmartQ 7 is available in white, yellow, and my favorite pink. However, there’s still no word as to when this would make its way outside China, or how much it would cost if it ever does.
