bluetooth version 3

Almost all digital gadgets today use Bluetooth. Laptops, netbooks, and other portable have it because of its usefulness. Bluetooth is very beneficial for wireless data transfer. However, the standard Bluetooth 2.0 +EDR gets an upgrade. Today, Bluetooth Special Interest Group (Bluetooth SIG) launched Bluetooth 3.0.

So, how is this different from the previous versions? According to Bluetooth SIG, this latest version boasts more speed; whereas the current Bluetooth standard has a transfer rate of 3 Mbps, the new version operates at 24 Mbps. This speed is possible because Bluetooth 3.0 works with a Wi-Fi signal. By working with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0 is able to make each transfer faster, especially for large file transfers.

Bluetooth 3.0 still allows transfers with less power consumption. This new version doesn’t only come with faster speed, its new features also include Unicast Connectionless Data and Enhanced Power Control.

Bluetooth SIG Executive Director Michael Foley is optimistic that the Bluetooth 3.0 will soon be used on PCs, phones, laptops, and other mobile gadgets.
