The World’s First Colored eReader

Fujitsu’s FLEPia

Fujitsu enters into the ebook reader market. This company might just have an edge over its competitors with the way it designed its eReader. Most of the eReader available today are in black and white, but Fujitsu’s FLEPia is not. It comes in full-colored splendour. It features an 8-inch 1,024 x 768 XGA touch screen that gives 260,000 colors! It’s a technology that Fujitus fondly refers to as “color e-paper”. Also included in the device are a scroll key and six function buttons.

Aside from the colored display, FLEPia is also fitted with wireless Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Its SD card slot is ideal for providing up to 4GB of storage. The battery that goes with the device provides up to 40 hours of use, that’s more than enough time to let you finish whatever ebook you’re hooked on.

But, yes there is always a “but” in these things. Expect the Fujitsu FLEPia to be more costly than most ebooks, like the Kindle. Right now the FLEPia is only available in Japan for $1,000 price tag. Do you think you’d buy it if you had the money?
