Nokia is the world’s number one handset maker and Skype is the biggest provider of free VoIP service. So, if these two goes into a partnership what do you think will happen? I think there would be more free and cheap phone calls over the internet; only now it’ll be through your Nokia handset.

This is exciting! Through the official announcement of the partnership last February 17, Skype’s Internet communications experience will be coming to Nokia’s mobile computers; Skype will initially be integrated in the Nseries; the N97, in particular will be the first to have the Skype feature in the 3rd quarter of 2009.

If you are wondering how Skype will work in the phone, the two companies make it simple. In the Nokia N97, Skype will be integrated in the address book where the user can see if his Skype contacts are online or not. If a contact is online he can send instant messages and make free voice calls to that person. To work, a user needs 3G, Wi-Fi, and WLAN connectivity.

This new partnership is a very exciting. It opens improved communication opportunities to millions of Nokia mobile users around the globe. Doesn’t it excite you?!
