Miro 2.0 Now Available for Download

Miro 2 web video player

Are you ready for a new media player and downloader? The Participatory Culture Foundation (PCF) released the Miro 2.0 for Linux, Windows, and Mac OS X last February 12. If you don’t know what Miro is, well, it is an open source HD Internet TV and podcast downloader and player. The new Miro has an all-new interface and various new improvements to make user experience more meaningful.

For one thing, this program is able to retrieve videos on archive.org and legaltorrents.com from the players side bar. It also has an integrated web browser.

Aside from downloading contents, Miro 2.0 can be used to watch HD content. To meet this end, it has support for MPEG, Quicktime, AVI, H.264, DivX, Windows Media, Flash Video, and a lot more. The features of the new Miro 2.0 allow the user to group channels together by topic or by folder. Being able to do so make it easier for users to access their downloaded content as the need arises.

If you want to try out Miro, you can download it for free.
