Toshiba has a new handset offering for its fans, the TG01 mobile. It looks like this could be another rival to the Apple iPhone and HTC Touch. Why? It has a huge 4.1-inch WVGA 800 x 480 386k pixels touchscreen in a slim – 9.9 mm thick – casing. You won’t see any button on the Toshiba TG01 because it’s pure touchscreen operation.

On top of that, it runs on Windows Mobile 6.1 and uses the new and powerful Snapdragin chipset from Qualcomm that’s capable of running at 1GHz. Other features include Wi-Fi, 3G, HSPA, Bluetooth, GPS and A-GPS connectivity. A 3.2 megapixel camera is also present.

The 3-D user interface is beneficial for accessing different phone applications. And speaking of applications, the TG01 mobile can play music, games, surf the web, and send instant messages. It’s also capable of accessing YouTube, Facebook, and various Web-based services in just one-flick of a button.

There is still no word on the TG01 mobile’s price or when it’s going to be available.

I guess we’d just better watch out for it!
