Barack Obama Obama’s inauguration is only a few hours away. By now, millions are waiting with baited breath for “A New Birth of Freedom”, Obama’s inauguration theme. The theme itself commemorates the 200th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln’s birth. Being a major event, not many will be able to attend the inauguration live. Millions will be glued to their TV screens and of course computers just to get see and listen to the new President’s speech.
Obama’s Inauguration Coming to you Live Through Silverlight
The live streaming and on-demand video of the oath-taking is possible through Microsoft’s Silverlight technology. Those who want to see Barack Obama and Joe Biden taking oath of office can see the on-demand video streaming that will be available on pic2009.org.
This major undertaking is another feather in Microsoft’s cap. If you will recall, it was also Microsoft that got the deal to stream the Beijing Olympics out into the world. According to Microsoft’s general counsel Brand Smith, “Microsoft is proud to be a part of this event by helping to bring the inauguration activities online.”
If you don’t have Silverlight, the inauguration will also be available in Flash.
