Got room for a new universal remote control? The Logitech Harmony 1100 universal remote introduced at the Consumer Electronic Show could be just what you need for convenient home entertainment. Just think, controlling everything by means of a customizable 3.5-inch full-color touch screen. I think this is the first universal remote control to provide that touch-screen feature that is why it received the CES 2009 Design and Engineering Award: Best of Innovations in the Home-Entertainment Accessories category.

So, how does it work? Logitech Harmony 1100 remote has fully redesigned software that lets the user navigate through the controls in just a single touch. Everything is clearly viewable in the 3.5-inch screen having QVGA resolution. The installed software lets you choose the commands that you regularly use and put them on the screen.

Also found in the 4.09 x 5.48 x 0.68-inch device are volume and channel up/down and mute buttons, four-way pad for navigating menus. The Harmony 1100 also comes with IR and RF wireless technology allowing the user to control devices up to 100 feet. This innovative device will be available in February for $499.99.
