Microsoft Reveals New Features for Various Products, Vista Not Included

Microsoft will never be absent at the CES. This is the best time for the company to reveal its new products for the market. But, this year, were you expecting that Microsoft would be presenting some improvements regarding the Vista? I was so I’m disappointed to know that Microsoft’s Steve Ballmer did not even mention it. What he revealed during his keynote speech were all about the new features that will be coming to Windows 7, Explorer 8, Windows Live, and Xbox.

The list of the upgrades is numerous. With Windows 7 Microsoft promises faster boot time and performance, a feature called Jumplists for recently opened documents and web pages, and enhanced networking. By January 9 Windows 7 will be released in a public beta. I think this will be the first time that Microsoft will let customers try out a new OS.

The touch-ups that Windows Live will have include access in Facebook as LiveSpaces accounts will sync with Facebook accounts, helpful search side bar in Live Hotmail, and Live Messenger with dynamic buddy icons or emoticons. Now, the Internet Explorer 8 will have accelerators to compile similar tasks to the right click menu. Gamers will be glad to know that new game features are heading their way. There will be two new Halo titles, new Xbox Live Primetime Events, and Kodu, a new game creation tool for kids.
