Asus Unveils Swivel Eee PCs at CES

Just when we thought netbooks can’t get any more revolutionary, Asus unveils the first netbook with swivel screen. Day 1 at the Consumer Electronics Show, Asus introduced the 8.9-inch EeePC T91 and the 10-inch EeePC T101H. These two new models by Asus were shown to have a touch screen feature and they both operate using Windows XP with a modified GUI. In particular, the T91 is integrated with Intel Atom Z520 processor (Silverthorne core). It is approximately 225mm x 164mm x 25.2-28.4mm in size. It’s actually very light at 2.2 pounds. The T101H on the other hand is installed with the N270 chip with Diamondville core. Basically, these two netbooks have almost similar features. Both will be available in black and white. Well, it’s going to be interesting to have netbooks with swivel screens! There’s still no price quote for these EeePCs.

Aside from the swivel screen netbooks, Asus also unveiled the interesting S121 which is a luxury netbook. Its features make it luxurious - leather palm rest, edge-to-edge glass, and Swarovski crystals on the hinge! This netbook has 12-inch screen with LEDS, 128GB SSD, twin batteries for up to 10 hours of use. Price for the S121 is expected to be in the $1,649 range.
