Palm’s Nova OS Coming Next Month

The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) will be on next month. Participating companies are already getting all their new products ready for the event. Palm for one thing is getting geared up for unveiling its new operating system including the handsets that it will be used in. According to sources, the upcoming OS is code-named Nova. This OS that has been in the works for almost for four years now is mainly geared up for mobile internet. Palm’s executive chairman, Jon Rubinstein, stated that in the next 10 years they see majority of the people will switch from notebooks to mobile computing and so, they want to be there when that happens.

Although the company might not regain the No. 1 smartphone provider spot it once had, it will be content to have at least 2% of the growing market.

The company hired more than 150 engineers to finish the Nova. Though the Nova has been reported already, Palm still hasn’t revealed the handsets that would use the Nova OS. Do we have to wait until CES?
