If I recall correctly there have been phones designed for children’s use that were launched in the past years. Remember the Disney D100 phone? And I think there was also one from Samsung. We are not so sure if these phones were a success with their target market. And even if they are not, one more company is willing to take a risk in that market. In fact the customized kid phone is set to launch this month in Hong Kong! The design is really simple, no high-tech features for you kids! Said phone has no keyboard. It only has functionality for making and receiving calls from pre-stored telephone numbers. Since the phone is designed for children ages 6-12, parents have total control as to who are only allowed to call their children.

It is GPS enabled to allow parents to know where their children are anytime. In a way, this phone could be helpful in keeping children safe, especially in these troubled times. Parents will have their mind at ease.

The phone has no official name yet, only that it is a customized phone designed for children’s use. In fact, the phone only looks like a toy, but has a $165 (HKD 1,280) price tag!
