Are you becoming bored with the Internet Explorer 7? Sad to let you know that you’re going to be bored for still quite a while. Microsoft announced that the release of the next edition Internet Explorer has been moved to 2009. There’s no exact date as to when this would happen just somewhere around the first quarter. An IE 8 Beta will be released and the final release will be a bit after that. It’s barely two months before we say good bye to 2008 so, there’s really no chance the IE 8 is going to be released this year.
Internet Explorer 8 to Launch in 2009
Microsoft is being extra cautious regarding its upcoming browser. IE general manager Dean Hachamovitch said in his blog that they are taking feedback and will not ship until everything has been fixed and ready. Microsoft is being very careful because of the new features that will come with the IE 8. It will come with a tag that will allow websites that have been tuned to the old browser to view the release without breaking. According to Microsoft breakage is possible because the IE 8 will revise its legacy layout engine to be able to offer CSS 2.1 and HTML 5.0 support.
