Pretty soon voice and video conferencing will be available aside from the Gmail chat. To make voice and video conferencing possible, users will need to download a plug-in. Of course, your PC or laptop must have webcam access. To show that Google is serious about making video conferencing more convenient, it has teamed up with Logitech and Buy.com to offer up to 30% discounts on cameras! Aside from the discounts, free shipping is also offered. All these are only until Nov. 30.
Based on the article I read, using the new app seems easy. If you already have the plug in, just click on the “video and more” link that’s inside the chat window, then, choose the start video/voice chat. A ring will be heard at the other end and the person will just have to choose whether to ignore or accept the call. I think it’s a pretty neat and straightforward process.
