Lenovo Unveils New SL Series Notebooks

Lenovo Thinkpad SL400

Yesterday, Lenovo launched a new series of notebooks that caters to Small to Medium-sized Business establishments. Lenovo has three new models under the SL series of ThinkPads. Business owners who want an excellent performing machine at a reasonable price can choose among the SL300, SL400, and SL500. Their names are just easy to remember as you can see. They are encased in a glossy black cover that gives them a classy look. Once you lift the lid, you’ll uncover the ThinkPad keyboard and the Trackpoint. Webcam, Bluetooth, WWAN and optional Blu-ray recordable drive are also found in the laptop. Data recovery and online backup and on-site warranty are features that are really ideal for business owners.

Lenovo SL series models are installed with Intel’s latest Core 2 Duo processors. In terms of graphics two options are provided – the Intel X4500 or the 128MB Nvidia GeForce 9300 graphics. The most obvious difference among the laptops is the size. The SL300 has 13.3-inch screen with backlit-LED display and comes with a $899 price tag. The SL400 is slightly bigger with 14.1-inch screen and the SL500 is the biggest with 15.4-inch screen. Both these latter models are already available today and have a starting price of $799. The SL300 will be out on August 5.

I just reviewed the SL400, the 14.1-inch SL400 and found that overall it's quite good:
