The Computex electronics show is an exciting event that shouldn’t be missed. Why? Well, simply because this is an event where new and exciting gizmos get unveiled. MSI of Micro-Star International is one of the companies that unveiled new products. Two of its amazing products are the Wind mini-desktop PC and the Wind mini-laptop. Both of these new MSI products proudly boast of the new Atom microprocessor from Intel. If you are thinking of replacing your existing computer these can be something you’d like to consider.
The MSI Wind desktop is on the small side, with just 300-mm by 260mm by 65mm chassis diameter. It does not consumer much energy as well which is a big advantage. Even at full speed Wind desktop only uses 35 watts, a big difference to the 250 watts used by traditional PCs. Since it does not use much power, Wind desktop does not have a cooling fan. It carries a built-in 160GB storage and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g wireless Internet connectivity.
As for the Wind mini-laptop, it weighs around 2.6 lbs with a huge 10-inch screen… a very attractive feature on a mini-laptop. An ergonomically-designed keyboard is onboard. Storage is 80GB, quite big already for such a device. Aside from that Wind mini-laptop also boasts a 1.3-megapixel cam, Bluetooth, 3 USB ports, and 4-in-1 card reader. Price is around $499.
