Compared to Apple’s iPod, Microsoft’s Zune still needs more work and features to be categorized as outstanding and impressive. Well, Microsoft is working hard to bridge that gap that is why Zune is now equipped with new updates. The Zune is now also a social networking tool with more TV shows added to its content. If you will recall back in November, Microsoft launched a community website called Zune Social. With the new update, Zune users can now download each others most recently played songs as those flagged as favorites. Nine songs from each category can be downloaded. To be able to do this, users must subscribe to Zune Pass, Microsoft’s mobile music service. For an affordable cost of $14.99 you’ll get an access to Microsoft’s library.
And in terms of TV shows, the Zune Marketplace is now offering over 800 TV episodes. Microsoft seems to have an edge in this area because they have the right to NBC shows. Zune Marketplace has the popular NBC shows like “The Office” and “The Heroes”. Shows from Comedy Central will also be included in the Zune Marketplace. Each show costs $1.99 each.
