Grand Theft Auto 4 is really a very advanced game and the whole thing deserves respect in matters of graphics and tactics and the ability to play with 16 people at the same time and all that other gamer whiz stuff.
But and this is a very big but, the game is devoid of morals and ethics!
I was kinda’ ok with the car steeling and running over people … that’s normal in our days and we hear about it all over the news and at friends gatherings.
There’s one thing though, I think the game could have done with-out; the sex!
Prostitution on the streets, sex in cars (Yes, sex scenes) and then, Hey! Why not run over the street girls and just make street guacamole out of them!?
Oh! What does explicit language add to the game? Couldn’t the language have been a bit cleaner?
Come on! The game is expected to make ginormous sales and that includes young teenagers being exposed to all that crap!
Don’t tell me that 14 and 15 year olds won’t be playing the game?
If this were a movie, wouldn’t it have been X-rated and would have been unsuitable for some age groups?
It’s the same!
You can’t argue that I’m the only one who sees something really wrong with the game, Australia banned it all together back in 2005 when there was one hidden sex scene in it! Why not now when it’s all out in the open?!
In not so many words, I think the game is grotesque and vile! Pull it off the market!

I totally agree with you !!!
HAR obviously needs to get alife!!!!
Firstly GTA4 is not a life simulator it is a game!!!!!! A game that enables people to do things they would do in real life and with tongue in cheek humour!!!
Does HAR get freaked out with the SImpsons because they are yellow and therefore all have jaundice or space programes because we can't really do it!!!?
Get a life and don't knock what you don't understand!!!!
You are stupid, i'm 15 and i have GTA 4 whats the big deal calm down, we like it so back off.
I played this game a few years ago and i hate it (GTA 2)... i crushed my real car after 2 continuous days playing it ... i hate it!!!!
People need to get off there over protective asses and learn that it is a video game. Just because your able to do something in a video game is not going to mean someone will do it in real life. If you were to look at the crimes related to the game and its release date and compare it to teh crimes related to the release date of the latest Harry Potter book, then you would realize that the game has nothing to do with people commiting real life crimes. There were more laws broken and people attacked by other people because they couldnt get a "clean book" compared to this so called "violent and terrible video game" Its idiotic to blame a video game for a person's actions. People need to be more responsible thats all. So this is coming from all 609,000 people that bought the game on opening day.
GROW UP AND FIND SOMETHING ELSE TO COMPLAIN ABOUT !!!
i totally agree..my cousin just bought the game. and the sex scenes are horrible exspcieallyyy iiin the car :O
i dont like it at all!!!
yea..but then lil kids may want to buy it and then they may c alll that and they may be exposed to it and they may want to go out int he world and try it out!!!!!
Is this a violent and explicit game? Of course, it says so right on the box. It has a mature rating and is intended for a mature audience. I don't think children should be playing it either but thats something that parents have to control. Its the same thing as an R-Rated movie, and yes if this were a movie it would be an R-Rated movie. The game does not glorify violence or murder or prostitution. They are things that can happen in it but it is ultimately up to the player of the game to decide what happens. I think the most important questions comes down to this... Have any of you that are saying it needs to be taken off the market actually sat down and played this game, or are you basing your over the top remarks upon comments you heard from others and game snippets taken completely out of context? Guess what, you could kill people in the SIMS, have affairs with the neighbors, and do other similar things that people are protesting against. The facts actually are, that this game while having the possibility of violence has an underlying tone that crime and violence are bad. The main character of the story has to face repercussions for his actions and the story even goes into his regret about his past and how he came into his current situations. Spreading propaganda for the sake of propaganda doesn't do good by anyone. Trying make your arguments more educated in the future and leave your rants to the other ignorant people who refuse to acknowledge these facts.
if parents would do their job and raise their children right we wouldn't have this conversation. When you rely on video games and television to babysit your children you look for something to blame when things go wrong. That is why there is ratings. Start takeing responsibility for your lack of child development skills and stop looking for things to blame when it realy shows. You do realize that Hitler tried the same things you are by burning books and anything that had to do with creativity. How are you any different in believing that everyone should think the way and believe in the same things you do. YOU MY FRIEND ARE ONE OF THE BIGGEST HIPOCRITS I"VE EVER READ!!!
Did you raise such a stink the last time an R rated movie with violence and sex hit the big screen? I think not. These games have ratings, these ratings are usually enforced by responsible store clerks, these parents who buy the game for their 14-15 year old kids have decided on their own to do so. These parents that find the material objectionable need to "protect" (shelter, lock away, coddle) their children from this game. If they buy the game without paying attention or doing the research they are to blame for it. The answer is not, and should never be, censorship. If you're worried about children playing the game, I should ask you, are they your children? If they are not, why the hell do you care? If you found your kids playing this game and they pulled one over on you, convincing you to buy it because this game was made up of the same moral fiber you wish them to ingest, whose fault is that?
Down with Censorship! UP with BETTER PARENTING! (yes, better parenting is a choice)
I own and love the game! It is a masterpiece of modern creativity, and its best characteristic is the ability to make choices, and pay the consequences for those choices. How can you object to a game that makes you pay the consequences for your actions. You don't make sense. Go back to school and work on your intellect.
God people, if you don't like it, don't play it. Don't associate yourself with it. Don't let everyone else suffer just because YOU and some other people don't like the game! Stay a mile away from every copy of GTA if you have to! WE LIKE IT. We will continue playing it! jeez...
Times have changed... You no longer see familys gathering around the television and watching g rated game shows... Now a days kids around the age of 13 are well taught about the wrongness about drugs and violence, but times have changed and they are already used to it.. ask any 5 year old I bet you they can tell you where babies come from... GTA 4 is just another window that kids are looking threw to see what the world has really comedown to... Seeing a pure teen is now almost impossible, you cant tell me an 18 year old has more sexual knoledge then a 13 year old... they know this stuff already... making a big deal of it now is just pointless. Leave GTA out of this.. they are just trying to please their customers.. their aint such thing as age limit any more...
