HP Upline: Your New Online Storage Service

We all know about that active proliferation of online storage services nowadays. Well, Hewlett-Packard is adding to its number with their newly launched HP Upline. This service is a beneficial one for backing up of files as well as file sharing. Intriguing? I think so. This new service also features automatic backup and 1-click restore capability. HP Upline offers unlimited storage for an affordable fee of $59 for one year. However, if you also want to just try it out, you can. If you only want to try and but buy, HP offers a limited 1GB storage for free. But there’s a catch. When the year is up, you have to upgrade to the paid service otherwise you’ll never see your files again.

If you don’t want to put your trust in other online storage providers like Dropbox, Windows SkyDrive and others, then the HP Upline could be what you are looking for. The annual $59 fee is easy on the budget; I think it’s more than enough in exchange for an unlimited online storage. But take note that Upline only works with Windows, tough luck for Mac users.

Update:
HP Upline is no longer available outside the United States. If you wasted your time downloading the software and already uploaded some of your valuable files, you will be able to download your files soon (After Upline Service is operational again!) just for a limited time, because according after that time period, you will no longer have access to your present HP Upline Service account!

Here is part of the email HP sent to people and their customers outside the United States:

"If you are not a resident of the United States, we regretfully must inform you that the initial launch of the HP Upline Service was intended for United States residents only..."
