TiVo users have another reason to be glad because just last week the company announced the latest update on its Desktop software. The new Desktop Plus 2.6 allows you to download videos from the web onto their DVR. However, in order to download Web videos you have to download the Desktop Plus 2.6 your PC’s hard drive. After that it can be transferred to your TiVO through the home network. Downloading is very easy as you can make it from any web browser and various RSS video clients.

Those who are interested in this service can now download the Desktop Plus 2.6 software. New users can avail of it now at $25. And those who have the existing software can have a free upgrade. For new users though, you have to take note that the Desktop Plus 2.6 only works with Windows platform. TiVO is still working on bringing the same software on the Mac.

If you will recall TiVO has made an announcement about this software at the Consumer Electronics Show back in January and now it is delivering the goods.
