Every little boy dreams of owning an X-ray camera or even a pair of x-ray goggles that can reveal what lies beneath clothing. And I am sad to say that this dream will not be coming true any time soon. However, a new x-ray camera that detects the presence of drugs, weapons and other potentially harmful substances underneath clothing has been manufactured. The T5000 Security Imaging System has been put to use in Dubai and was manufactured and developed in the UK.

A spokesperson from the manufacturing company broke the news to the little boys I mentioned earlier saying "You see a silhouette of the form [of a body] but you don't see surface anatomical effects.” The camera uses what are known as T-rays which reflect off the body giving us a clear image of any concealed products. Hopefully these cameras will be used more widely in airports soon which will mean that people do not have to take off their clothes to ensure they are not carrying any illicit substances.
