Sony Ericsson Xperia X1

Sony Ericsson definitely knows how to make noise! And they did so with the new handsets that they let loose at the Mobile World Congress that’s being held in Barcelona. 7 new handsets were unveiled, but among these, the Xperia X1 takes the center stage because of the really sophisticated features. This new Xperia X1 seems to be opening new doors for better and improved entertainment and productivity on the go. They don’t call it a smart phone because it is more than that; hence the more apt label is “convergence device”.

The Xperia X1 is the first of Sony Ericsson’s line to come equipped with the Windows-Mobile feature. Another feature that still unique in this phone device is the HSUPA or High Speed Upload Packet Access, which allows super quick media transmission. Likewise, it boasts a high-resolution touch screen and GSM/EDGE and Wi-Fi support for short-range online applications. Here’s even GPS, FM Radio, Bluetooth and a 3.2 megapixel camera.

Xperia X1’s target market is the business oriented world that needs this kind of quality productivity access. There’s no exact quote on its price tag, but expect that it’s going to cost you much.

Hi Chris. The Xperia is said to ship in the second half of 2008 in the US. Sony Ericsson's still not disclosing how much it will cost though:-)
