Nvidia is out to make its services better by purchasing the chip-maker Ageia Technologies. The attraction for Nvidia in this buy out is the chip called PhysX that is being manufactured by Ageia Technologies. It is Nvidia’s intention to count in PhysX with their own GeForce graphics chips. The PhysX offers excellent potential for enhancing the capability of Nvidia’s own chips. Why? If you love the graphics being offered by the different gaming consoles then it’s all thanks to PhysX. You probably don’t know that this chip from Ageia Technologies is the used on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and the Nintendo Wii. Ageia’s PhysX chip is a very important part of a gaming system. This is the third element that takes the gaming experience a notch higher because it makes action and interaction better.
Nvidia is now gearing up to add PhysX to their GeForce line. They plan to do this as soon as possible. With this new acquisition, Nvidia’s GeForce graphics chips will become more competitive. By then I’m wondering which one would be better, Nvidia’s GeForce or ATI chips?
