It is not good for any company to stagnate. Nokia seems to think so as well as they are once again on their way to accelerating their software approach with the acquisition of a company names Trolltech ASA. A lot of us have not heard of this company since it is based in Oslo, Norway. So why is Nokia taking an interest in this company? Well, Trolltech, formerly known as Quasar Technologies, is a software provider that supplies world-class software development platforms and framework. With this company as one of their divisions, Nokia will be able to develop much better products for the consumers around the world, especially for mobile devices, desktop applications and internet services business.
And aside from improving Nokia products, Nokia will also continue to boost Trolltech’s products and also support their existing customers of almost 5000 globally.
Nokia’s offer of each share of Trolltech is 16 NOK or $153.3 million. 66.43% of the shareholders have decided to accept the offer. There’s no turning back in this new acquisition.
