Toshiba and Sharp are two well-known companies in terms of technology. I’m sure everyone has heard of these names in relation to high-end devices and gadgets. Toshiba for one is recognized as the producer of sophisticated and highly functional chips and semi conductors. Sharp is also in the realm of technology. So what do you think will happen when these two big names team up? The first thing to come to mind is better products, gadgets and gizmos! Yes, by 2008 Toshiba will source LCDs from Sharp, and Sharp will also buy chips for TVs from Toshiba.
Both companies have a high demand from customers of their products, and with this new collaboration they hope to satisfy this demand. By 2010 Sharp aims to fulfill 50% of their need for chips for TVs and Toshiba also intend to meet 40% of the demand for LCD units. The LCDs that Toshiba will procure will be manufactured in a 3 billion dollar factory being built in Sakai City in Osaka Japan.
