Bible on pinhead chip

What?! The Bible on a chip? I’m not sure how I’d feel about that. Google is immortalizing millions of books by converting them into digital format. And now the Bible is getting immortalized too… on a chip. Not just any kind of a chip but one with the size of a pinhead, smaller even! It’s so amazing that the above 300,000 Hebrew words are now kept in a tiny silicon material. This success is attributed to the Haifa Institute of Technology in Israel.

As you can imagine, the whole process of inscribing the words took on a complex process. The Israeli researchers made use of an apparatus named as the Focused Ion Beam or FIB to write the words on the 0.5 sq.-mm surface with a thin layer of gold 20 nanometers thick or 0.0002mm. The researchers will make a display of the big Bible at the Faculty of Physics. There will be a picture of the Bible measuring 23ft x 23ft and beside will be the nano-Bible. If you see it I’m sure you’ll see the huge difference.
