It seems UMPCs are taking the market by storm. Some of the well-known brands that have released UMPCs are Samsung, Asus and Fujitsu. Now here’s another from OQO. According to the OQO’s site, this new model E2 is another “full PC that fits in your pocket!” This model E2 is similar to the existing version from OQO but with touchups done on it. The best highlight of this UMPC is the added HSDPA mobile broadband capability that will enable users to connect to the Internet at a faster rate. This also makes the E2 a bit heavier than previously. Then there’s also an integrated antenna to help out when signal is low.
This OQO E2 UMPC is a powerful mobile device encased in a stylish design. This pocket PC made use of magnesium alloy that’s crafted into a slide design. Once you slide it, the full keyboard with its 58-keys and track stick will be displayed fully. There are also some shortcut keys integrated on the keyboard for that easy access and functionality. And you know what? This device might be small but it can provide you with a full PC performance thanks to its great specs such as:
• 1.5GHz or 1.6GHz VIA C7-M ULV processor
• 1GB DDR2 SDRAM
• 120 GB HDD
• Integrated graphics chipset with OQO patented subprocessor technology
• Palm-size motherboard
The new OQO model E2 would be the perfect solution for anyone who wants to be always connected. And take note that the model E2 is another innovative device since it won the Good Design Award 2007 from Japan Industrial Design Promotion Organization.
