Marvell and its Power-Saving Chip

Marvell Chip

One of the problems that come with using PCs and notebooks is the high electricity bill. It’s a fact that these devices use up considerable amount of energy in order to work. But because the PC and other electronic devices are already a part of our everyday life and work the high electricity bill at the end of the month is something that cannot be helped. But Marvell MRVL says they have the solution to this problem. They have come up with a chip that can reduce power consumption to almost half of the usual use. The new chip is actually an AC-DC power conversion controller chip or smart power device.

The power used up by the PC and notebook will be reduced almost by half through the AC-DC conversion process. The chips will even out the power that comes from the wall socket going to the device so it only uses up only the needed amount of energy. In this way no energy is wasted. This power saving chip can also be used in various electrical devices. With this chip effectively and efficiently working you can have noticeable savings in your electric bill. But that’s not likely until 2008 when the chips will be released.
