MySpace is one of the largest social networking sites in the US and its popularity is also spreading fast worldwide. Skype on the other hand is the best thing to happen in terms of free online and internet calls. So what do you think will be the result when these two combine? These two companies are going into a partnership that will deliver more of the free VoIP calls; in a service they call MySpaceIM. These companies have been working on this for sometime now so by November users will be able to use it for free.
MySpace and Skype have IM feature that enable users to connect instantly with their acquaintances, friends and relatives online. Skype will be added to MySpace’s IM client and Skype will also provide a MySpace button so that users can also sign in to MySpace should they desire to do so. Users don’t have to worry about getting calls from unknown person because he can block or pre-screen any call he’ll receive.
The calls between MySpace and Skype will be free of charge, but when the Skype calls are made to mobile phones and landlines users will have to pay a certain fee. This also applies to voice mail and call forwarding services. Skype will be the one to handle the billing and the revenue will be split between Skype and MySpace.
