Nowadays we usually hear the term HDTV bandied around when the topic is about home entertainment. But among those out there who own an HDTV or High-Definition TV only a few know what an HDTV is all about. Most of them are content just with the fact that they own an HDTV. A survey was conducted by Best Buy to find out how many really have a good understanding of the HDTV. And out of the results of the survey Best Buy developed tools that would be helpful for consumers to get a full HDTV experience. These tools generated by Best Buy can be found over at www.AskABlueShirt.com. Don’t forget to check this site out if you intend to invest in an HDTV.

Anyway, the result of the survey was surprising:

• 89% of the consumers say that they don’t really understand what HDTV is all about.
• 41% of the owners confess they have little knowledge about HDTV.
• 52% of the owners don’t know if their HDTV was set up properly
• 50% of the HDTV owners also said that they are not sure if they are watching HD programming.
• 35% didn’t think they have to subscribe to HD programming in order to have access to HDTV programming.
• Out of 10 consumers 4 don’t realize that that an HD-ready TV is important for that HD viewing.
• 52% of all the respondents don’t recognize that there needs to be an HD compatible cable for that full HD programming experience.
