Zeno Robot: A Higher Level in Artificial Intelligence?

Zeno Robot with its creator David Hanson and his son

The development of robots is getting more and more advanced with each moment. This is so true with the unveiling of the Zeno robot from Hanson Robotics. Zeno robot can respond to physical and verbal prompting from humans by means of advanced software built in his system. Zeno is actually a replica of its creator, David Hanson’s son who also bears the name Zeno. As you probably know it is not easy to develop a robot, especially one as advanced as this that is why it took 5 years for Hanson and a group of engineers to complete the project.

Zeno robot is a delight because this little robot boy can interact, engage in conversation and show emotions on its expressive face just like humans do. And Zeno robot also appears like a live little boy, which is amazing. Through the software and by being linked to a PC he can smile, make eye-to-eye contact, move his mouth, stand, lie down and move his limbs. If you’ve watched the movie AI or Artificial Intelligence, Zeno robot is very close to it. In fact David Hanson said that was what inspired him to develop this advanced robot.

The single Zeno robot at Hanson Robotics is presently the prototype. But within the next 3 years some more little Zenos will be available for the market at a price somewhere between $200 up to $300. This could be a great toy or tutor to the children. I think this Zeno robot is really amazing!
